School Website Challenge

Each year secondary schools from and around Portsmouth are invited to enter the Schools Website Challenge.

The purpose of the competition is to:

  • encourage young people to develop a website
  • allow young people to show they can work as a team
  • develop a project
  • present and communicate their work to others

The design brief for the 2003 competition was to develop a website which would help young people make choices about their career based on knowledge of local career and job opportunities.

Many of the great ideas that you see in the Job Cafe site have come from the suggestions put forward by the schools that entered the competition.

10 secondary schools entered the 2003 competition, they were:

  • Henry Court
  • Admiral Lord Nelson
  • St Edmunds
  • Crookhorn
  • City of Portsmouth Boys
  • King Richard
  • Bridgemary Community
  • Springfield
  • Warblington
  • Park Community

Bridgemary Community School in Gosport was the overall winner.
